What should you expect from your move?
If you’re like a lot of our customers, you’ve never experienced a home move before. You might be nervous about the number of hands that will touch your belongings or exactly what will happen in the process while you’re not around. Just breathe.
We rode along with movers Randy Blanton and Brian Brammer, and Master Mover Josh Roader to see what goes on behind the scenes. Keep reading to learn what to expect on the day of your move, and to get some tips straight from the pros.

Check the truck
Each truck needs 75 pads to protect your belongings, straps to keep items in place during the move, floor runners to protect your home, and a dolly to speed up the moving process. Once the standard supplies are in place, one of the crewmen will pick up your paperwork for the day to see if any extra equipment is needed to execute the move.
-
Load up the crew
Paperwork in hand, movers jump in one of our industry standard trucks and head to your house. With an average crew of three men, teams typically include moving partners who are proven to work well together in order to make for a more efficient move.
-
Have a walkthrough
At the location, the foreman leads a walkthrough room-by-room with the client to check his inventory against what actually needs moved. Meanwhile, one crewman keeps a count of each item and the third prepares your home for the move. This crewman will lay down floor runners and cover banisters with padding to protect your home while large items are passing through.
Once the walkthrough is complete, it’s time to see if our list needs any updates from your original inventory. Forget about that couch in the basement or an extra stop you need to make? Decide to leave the vanity behind? Don’t worry—we’ll make any price adjustments you may need before the first box even makes it on the truck. Once our inventory is complete and up to date, it’s time to start moving.
Pro Tip: When you request your quote online or in-person, be as thorough as possible in order to receive an accurate estimate.

Let’s get moving
Each move looks different depending on which services you choose. Depending on the job, you could be packed and ready to move, or you could want your entire home professionally packed. Or, you might have some rooms already boxed up, but still need help wrapping fragile stemware and dishes.
We start with the bottom floor and load the truck room by room. This means that when we unload, everything is still grouped by room and you can unpack that match faster.
Pro Tip: If you choose a customized move, save time by separating everything you want to pack yourself from what’s going on the truck.
Because our pricing is based on inventory and not by the hour, our crew’s only mission is to get you on the road and into your new home. And our extensive training program and Master Mover certification mean that our Indianapolis movers are the best in the business.

Unload at your new home
Once the truck is loaded (imagine a giant game of real-life Tetris), it’s time to get you to your new home. The crew will unload just as quickly as they loaded, and, depending on your needs, can even unpack for you.
Pro tip: Be familiar with the layout of your new house, so you won’t have to rearrange later on without the help of our crew.
Once the crew receives payment, it’s on to the next job. That simple.
